You’re a champion with no shortage of ambition who’s ready to do bigger and better things but keep letting your less-than-perfect English hold you back.

Whether you…

  • Work at a startup or a large corporation and are tired of feeling judged and “less-than” because of the level of your English.
  • Know that you can land a better, higher paying job or are in line to receive a long-deserved promotion, but your English is holding you back.
  • Have built up your own business and wish to expand internationally to grow your revenues and gain global brand awareness, but you and/or your employees lack the competence and confidence to do that.
  • Suffer from (are blessed with) type-A perfectionism and are quite confident in your English but are driven to take it to the next level and achieve native fluency.

You’re in the right place! And I’m going to tell you exactly how The Fluency Formula will give you or your team the tools, motivation, and unparalleled support on the journey to English fluency.

By the end of this program,

your team will…

  • Fully understand and implement the logic behind English grammar.
  • Have a more abundant vocabulary.
  • Feel more like themselves when speaking in English.
  • Speak more clearly, with less effort, and greater confidence.
  • Stop getting stuck or switching to Hebrew mid-sentence.
  • Become impactful speakers.
  • Be proud of their English.
  • Experience a major breakthrough in their English.

“The Fluency Formula has truly elevated my English to a much higher, more advanced level, helping me to fill in gaps in my knowledge and to correct mistakes I was making for years, many of which I hadn't realized were errors at all. This intensive, demanding, and fun program leaves no stone unturned. The Fluency Formula is a 3-month online course that's divided into two parts that happen simultaneously:

Recorded Content

Pre-recorded Content

gaining knowledge

8 content modules showing you literally EVERYTHING you need to know and do to take your English from good to damn excellent! Each module focuses on a different language topic and consists of 3-10 pre-recorded lessons. Below, you'll find detailed descriptions of all of the materials that you will learn in each module of the course.

You'll be granted access to one module per week, giving you ample time to dive into the module's lessons and apply what you've learned BEFORE moving forward to the next module.

We have structured the course in this format to conserve your time, attention, and focus while sparing you from that intense drowning feeling that stops so many would-be excellent English speakers in their tracks.

Moreover, if you feel like you're stuck at any point during the program, we've got you covered. One of our rockstar coaches will be there to answer your most burning questions, get you past challenges, and help you overcome moments of motivational weakness, carefully guiding you along your way to victory. How? Well, throughout the course, we will be holding daily group coaching sessions, and make ourselves available to you via email.

Implementation

Implementation

applying that knowledge

The implementation part of the course takes the form of discussion sessions with experienced fluency coaches. These sessions are held twice a week in a small group format (up to 6 participants), allowing students to receive the attention they deserve. Each 1-hour session tackles different topics and aspects of business English, encouraging you to think, speak, debate, and ask questions in English.

Countless studies and our own experience with students clearly show that this mix of content and speaking practice is the only way to truly attain your fluency aspirations.

Note: After you sign up, we’ll hop on a 15-minute Zoom call to get to meet each other and so that I may get a feel for where your team currently stand in terms of English fluency. Based on this assessment, we will customize the discussion groups to best fits the team's current skill level and profession. The group sessions will take place twice a week at a time suited for you and your team.

What’s Inside

Module 1

Prepositions

One very important concept that we all love to hate is prepositions. A preposition is a small word that connects two other words within a sentence, such as in, at, on, for, to, and about.

Together, we'll:

  • Untangle the confusion around in, at and on, and understand whether we should say in 2021 or on 2021, in the airport or at the airport, and on Instagram or at Instagram.
  • Shed some light on the following mysteries:
    • Why do we say arrive in New York and not arrive to New York?
    • Do we say to discuss about the topic or on the topic? Or is it neither?
    • Is it satisfied with or satisfied from
    • Do we apply to a position or for a position???
  • Learn how to use a super practical, technological tool that will help you get your prepositions right.
  • Tap into the hidden logic behind phrasal verbs (e.g. tap into, look forward to, pull back, and venture out) and figure out how to incorporate them into our speech, bringing us one step closer to sounding more native-like.
Module 2

The Present

When you hear grammar, what's the first thing that springs to your mind? Past simple, present perfect, and future progressive? You're not wrong – verb tenses are a big part of any language, and using the “right” tenses when constructing grammatically correct sentences is fundamental to fluent and confident English. Knowing your tenses will help you avoid errors that can cause your English to sound off.

And it gets worse…

While Hebrew has but three tenses – past, present, and future – in English we have twelve! Yeah, you heard me right, twelve freakin' tenses!

As crazy as it might sound, familiarizing yourself with the different tenses lets you benefit from all of the grammatical richness that the English language has to offer. In other (less fancy) words, you'll significantly up your communication skills. Not mixing up your tenses by consistently sticking with the past, present and future simple tenses, is a surefire method for keeping yourself at a basic level.

But we know you're ready to step it up (otherwise you wouldn't be reading this) and am sure you can do just that.

So… For this reason, modules 2, 4, and 6 cover ALL of the tenses. This might feel like a bad high-school throwback, but we promise to keep it as painless and interesting as possible.

Truth is, the logic behind these rules is pretty simple (pinky promise), and we have organized it in a way that will not only make it easy for you to understand the rules, but also to begin incorporating them into your speech and writing. It’s all about gaining knowledge and changing old habits.

In this module, we’re going to focus on the present tenses, and together, we’ll answer the following questions:

  • Should I say I live in Tel Aviv or I’m living in Tel Aviv? I work at Wix or I’m working at Wix?
  • What’s the difference between I read your email and I’ve read your email?
  • Is there a difference between I’ve cleaned out my inbox and I’ve been cleaning out my inbox?
  • And the million dollar question - How the hell do I memorize everything AND apply the rules when conversing with others?
Module 3

Adjectives

In this module, we’re going to take a short, yet needed, break from our beloved tenses and deal with adjectives, AKA “describing words” (old, interesting, unbelievable, etc.).

When it comes to adjectives, there are a few things that many Israelis have a hard time with:

  • Understanding the difference between adjectives and adverbs (different vs. differently).
  • Knowing when to add an s to an adjective. I mean, how many times have you asked yourself a question like: Do we say users list, users’ list, or user list? It’s a hard one, isn’t it? Spoiler alert: The answer is user list.
  • Putting together grammatically correct sentences when making comparisons.
  • Differentiating between different types of adjectives, such as interested and interesting.
Module 4

The Past

In this module, we’re going to shed some light on the past tenses and answer these burning questions:

  • What’s the difference between have been and had been?
  • What should I say at a job interview - I worked there for two years or I was working there for two years?
  • Did you like or did you liked?
Module 5

Conditionals

Let us guess…

Every time you’re about to open your mouth and start your sentence with the word if, you blank out. If I do? If I did? If I had done? If I will do

Module 5 is all about “if…then” sentences, also known as conditional sentences. Believe it or not, there are four different conditionals in English, and we can mix between them too. Let’s have a look at the four conditionals:

  • If you heat ice, it melts.
  • If it rains tomorrow, we’ll stay home.
  • If I were the head of my department, I would do things differently around here.
  • If she had prepared better, she would have passed the interview.

By the end of this module, you will have fully understood the distinction between these puppies.

Module 6

The Future

In this module, we’re going to dive deep into the future tenses and answer those aggravating questions that keep you up at night:

  • Is there a difference between will and going to?
  • Why is it grammatically correct to say I’m meeting Jason for lunch tomorrow? I thought that we use -ing to talk about things that are happening now.
  • I will see Sarah tomorrow or I will be seeing Sarah tomorrow?
Module 7

Cultural Competence

Trying to improve your English without developing a sense of the underlying culture is like trying to lose weight without working out. Understanding American culture is key to mastering American English, as it clues you into common topics of conversation, “hidden messages” (AKA subtexts), etc.

And it’s no secret that we Israelis are no-nonsense talkers. We don't beat around the bush. We get straight to the point. We don’t sugarcoat. What we say is what we mean.

Is this a good thing? Sometimes, it's great. However, in many other cases, not so much.

Therefore, in this module, we do you a solid by giving you a bunch of tips and tricks on how to soften your language in situations that require a little extra sensitivity or finesse.

Module 8

Idioms, Slang, and Fillers

This module is all about vocabulary, and is divided into four earth-shattering lessons:

1. Idioms

Idioms are a type of figurative language that can be used to make your speech more dynamic and colorful. For example, bite the bullet, go back to the drawing board, and play it by ear). Since idioms are super common in written and spoken English and widely used by native English speakers, including them in your conversations will help you sound more natural. However, many non-native English speakers avoid using idioms because they’re not sure about their meaning or whether the context is appropriate. In this lesson, I will teach you the most common idioms that can be used in business context AND the best way to implement them seamlessly.

 2. Slang

We constantly get asked about the need to learn American slang and the appropriateness of using it in the workplace.

And our answer is always unequivocal - yes!

Integrating slang into your communication will allow you to sound natural and authentic.

Try to count how many times you use a slang word throughout a Hebrew conversation to understand the importance of slang.

Also, the business world as we know it today, particularly the tech industry, is not as formal as it used to be, and slang is frequently used in internal, everyday conversations.

A lot of companies understand that interacting informally may help to keep young employees engaged, and therefore, adopt a more down-to-earth approach within the workplace.

Knowing that we don’t always have to speak formally encourages us to voice our opinions and share our views more openly, and workplaces are aware of that.

In this lesson, you will learn useful slang words and phrases that you’ll be able to use at work.

 3. Gap fillers

“Um...“, “like”, “you know”, “you see”, and “okay, so…” (AKA filler words) are short, meaningless words or sounds we use to fill the little pauses that occur while we decide what we’re going to say next. And they can be your best friend if you use them correctly and not too often.

Even though these little words don’t add any meaning to our statements, they do perform an important function in speech.

They allow us to take a second and think about what we want to say next, and they let our listeners know that we're not quite finished speaking yet, even if we've paused for a moment.

Filler words are a natural part of how we communicate. They improve our fluency, allow us to sound more natural, and Americanize our speech. The average speaker uses one filler word every twelve seconds!!!

In this lesson, we will introduce you to the most useful gap fillers and teach you how to use them effectively.

Bonus 1

Cheat Sheet: How to Get Unstuck During an English Conversation

Have you ever experienced a “brain freeze” in the middle of a conversation? I’m not talking about the stabbing pain in your forehead that you get after eating ice cream too quickly - I’m talking about those moments when our minds go blank and can’t recall the words to say what we wanted to say. Putting it plainly - getting stuck. Blanking out. Going braindead.

When we search for specific words in our vocabulary or the best available substitute, our brains run association algorithms, retrieve the words out of memory, and make them available for us to use. However, when we communicate in real-time, with pressure to continue and convert our thoughts as they occur, this process sometimes fails, often causing us to lose confidence.

The good news is that this happens to EVERYBODY. The bad news? It will happen again.

This cheat sheet will introduce you to a variety of expressions that will allow you to keep a conversation flowing without freaking out or becoming frustrated, even when you get stuck.

Bonus 2

Cheat Sheet: Small Talk

How do you feel about small talk? šŸ™„

Do you find it enjoyable or to be a pain in the booty?

Small talk can be defined as a polite, unimportant conversation. Yet, a cultural must.

With small talk, we can:

āœŒšŸ» break the ice and avoid awkward silences

āœŒšŸ» build rapport

āœŒšŸ» enhance our confidence

āœŒšŸ» create opportunities

āœŒšŸ» improve our communication skills

But since I know how easily you can run out of questions after “How are you?” I’ve put together a comprehensive list of conversation starters that will spice up your Zoom calls and in-person meetings.

Bonus 3

Cheat Sheet: Giving and Receiving Feedback

It’s no secret that we Israelis do not beat around the bush. We get straight to the point. We don’t sugar-coat. What you see is what you get. What you hear is what I meant.

Is it a good thing? In some cases, it’s great.

However, it would be a good idea to learn how to soften our language a little bit in certain situations that require sensitivity, for instance - when giving critical feedback to international employees.

It’s important to master the art of delivering constructive criticism in order to avoid coming across as hurtful and mean-spirited and to allow your employee or colleague to truly absorb your feedback.

This cheat sheet will introduce you to TONS of useful expressions that you can use when giving and responding to feedback, helping you to come across as more professional.

Bonus 4

Cheat Sheet: Silent Letters

How annoying are silent letters in English words? What are they even doing there? There are a great many words that have a silent letter “hidden” within them and there are a lot of silent letters in English. About 60% of all English words have a silent letter! 60%! No wonder pronunciation is unbearably frustrating, right?

And the most annoying thing is that these letters CAN be silent, but they’re not ALWAYS silent.

This cheat sheet is all about English words with silent letters in them. When do you pronounce those letters and when don’t you pronounce them?

I’m going to teach you a few simple rules to help you pronounce English words correctly.

Frequently Asked Questions

Burning Qs your fellow Fluency Formula rockstars asked before grabbing their access

Still on the fence?

You should give The Fluency Formula a 7-day risk-free shot if you’re motivated by any of the following:

  • Your team members need that extra push to engage in conversation with international colleagues
  • Your company is struggling to breakthrough to international markets due to language barriers
  • Your teams are losing sales deals and/or investors because they lake the confidence to make a powerful impression in English
  • Your organization struggles to understand the cultural differences therefore you cannot communicate effectively with important clients and stakeholders

A note from our founder, Noa:

I, personally, cannot wait to guide your team through the next 12 weeks…

Speaking English fluently and confidently is not something that has always been second nature to me.

As a non-native English speaker, I know what it’s like to feel like you have two different personalities - you have your Hebrew self and your English self. And while your Hebrew self is charismatic, intelligent, well-spoken, and fun, your English self is all right but not as great.

And let me tell you something, my friend. Being confident in my English self gives me FREEDOM and PEACE OF MIND. If I ever decide to ditch Uptick and look for a job, I will have the confidence to write “English - mother-tongue level” in my CV and show up to job interviews knowing that both the interviewer and I can focus on what really matters - my experience and qualifications.

And I know you want that, too.

If you’re an employee, employer, or an entrepreneur of any kind, you owe it to yourself and your team to see what life as a confident English speaker looks like.

To experience firsthand the freedom and peace of mind that it provides – and to take real, tangible steps to transforming the lives of people who want to work with you and hear what you have to say.

Should you choose to accept my invitation, I personally guarantee that these next 12 weeks will be completely and utterly life-changing for you.

I look forward to meeting helping your organization personally inside The Fluency Formula.

All the best,

Noa
